How sweet it it is!

image002.jpg Well, I hope you're ready for the most exciting event in sports, the BCS post season tourney! Almost time for the worst climax to a sporting season in the United States, where a bunch of teams will play in meaningless bowls and two fairly random teams will be selected to play for the national title. Hoo-raa.

Amen, brother.

Are you kidding me? Troy gets a higher seed than Central Michigan? That's BS!

See, Missouri and West Virginia must be better than Ohio State because their losses came earlier in the season. It makes perfect sense, and is a very good way to judge which team is better.

Am I the only one who would have absolutely no interest in seeing this "decisive playoff" system? When I watch sports, I most certainly do not need to see a clear-cut winner or loser. If it were up to me, all games would end in scoreless ties and then the national title game would be decided by a rock-paper-scissors tournament; best 3 out of 5 wins. The fact is, the general public has no interest in seeing if Hawaii could compete with the elite teams--we're just not even a little bit curious. We aren't interested in whether or not several different teams from the SEC could kill Missouri if it came down to it. WE JUST DON't WANT TO KNOW. So stop trying to sell us on these playoffs. I've already reserved my tickets to see the Chick-Fill-A Peach Bowl, and I can't wait. Do you realize the winner of that game could conceivably finish the season ranked in the top 20? I'd love to see any playoff system give me that kind of rush.

my fear is that a playoff system would take away from the integrity and tradition of the PoppaJohn's.com bowl or the Las Vegas bowl or whatever. Didn't they used to have a Sugar bowl?

Whatever happens the main thing is to keep Hawaii out of the championship picture. There's no way an undefeated team with a record breaking quarterback should be given the opportunity to finish their best season ever with a game against a two loss team. Better to put them in the Naming Rights to be Determined Bowl or some other three year old tradition. That way we could see the same tired (BEATEN) teams play to see who only has 1 loss instead of 2 or 3? Boise State never ended up beating Oklahoma. That was the network cutting to a Disney movie. Like the Heidi game.
if the NCAA wants to get rid of the controversy then let Hawaii get slaughtered and then they can point to that game every time a lesser school goes undefeated. Until then it just looks like when NBC gave Notre Dame tv rights for all of time - weak. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a sub par independent school play instead of seeing ANY game in conference or between good schools or whatever.
Go Eagles.

Ohio State is back in The National Championship Game! Woo Hoo!

Yeah, they really earned it too, with those wins over Youngstown State, Akron, and Kent State.

You have my condolences with West Virginia.
